Trachycarpus wagnerianus - Miniature Chusan Palm
This fan palm is quite similar in appearance to Trachycarpus Fortunei, but has shorter, stiffer leaves that stand more erect and aren't as deeply divided. It is more cold and wind tolerant. In my opinion it is a more attractive palm to Trachycarpus fortunei as over time it will build layers of leaves that look very impressive whilst the underlying leaves remain looking good for many years. Also along with fortunei it is one of the hardiest palms available. We will also have available in April - VERY FEW: Trachycapus takil and Trachycarpus martinanus In my opinion Trachcarpus martinanus is easily the most striking and elegant of the Trachcarpus genus. I don't really know it's hardiness rating but has done well for me over the past 23 years outdoors unprotected. |
