Cordyline australis - Cabbage Palm
One of the most common plants that can give the garden that exotic feel to it with its long leathery leaves. It is not a true palm, but will add that look with its evergreen foliage throughout the year. As it is fully hardy, wind tolerant, a fast grower and relatively cheap, where better to start than with this plant. This is a trouble free plant, just keep watered during dry periods and enjoy. We now have a small number of the most sensational of all the Cordylines, Cordyline indivisa. Whilst they are considerably more expense than their more common cousin, the australis, they are well worth the expense for a big dramatic bold plant. Picture shows 2 of the large size available. |
