About Us

Dicksonia Direct is a small enthusiast-owned nursery that specialises in the import of Tree Ferns, Palms and other hardy exotics from around the world.
The current plant range is comprised largely of unusual and rare plants from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Brazil, China, Mexico and Chile.
All of the plants that I sell are growing in my garden and therefore I have first hand experience of all the plants available for sale.

Trading in many of these plants is protected by the international CITES Convention which promotes sustainable use of natural resources.

I have imported and sold plant exotica for the last six years and I continue to develop lines in unusual plants. I have a large stock of tree and ground ferns offering a huge choice of plants to both the professional and amateur gardener.

Both wholesale and retail enquiries are most welcome.

Should you wish to visit my plant nursery, situated in Kilmacanogue, Co. Wicklow please phone or e-mail me for an appointment. It is conveniently situated on the M50/N11 motorway. Please note I can usually only meet at weekends.

Visits to my garden in Leopardstown by individuals and clubs can be arranged by appointment between May and September.
I am always happy to offer advice and ideas on 'Fernscapes' involving ferns and other woodland plants to create a fernery.

I have a larger range of plants that are not included on the lists as they are not always in stock. These will be on view at the nursery or on display at the shows.
